George and Elsie Laurell's studio is located on the edge of Grant Woods in North Eastern Illinois. After many years of study they have decided to share their love of making pottery by exhibiting it at Art show throughout Northern Illinois and this web site.

We were hooked the first time we saw a lump of clay magically grow from the potter’s wheel into a beautiful pot. Clay is soft , malleable, and fragile but under fire it transforms into a durable useful ware that will last for generations.

All aspects of making pottery reward and challenge us. Taking us into new and creative directions. From the feel of the clay in our hands to the "Christmas Morning" thrill of opening the kiln after a glaze fire.

Our inspiration comes from the pottery of the American Arts and Crafts movement.

There is great pleasure knowing that our pottery goes from our hands to your homes to be displayed and used.
